Iowa Select Farms is one of the state's bigger hog producers.
It operates a number of sites in the Iowa Falls area. Each site
has an average of ten barns and each barn holds about 1400 hogs.
The floors of these barns consists of grating over pits about two
feet (two-thirds of a metre) deep, where the hog waste collects.
When cracks started to appear in the concrete pits, Iowa Select
didn't want an environmental pollution problem on their hands.
They called PERMA-DRY® dealer Larry Wamsher in nearby Des Moines,
who recommended the crack repair process be carried out using
PERMA-DRY®'s THERMO-JET™ technology and PERMA-SEAL®, a
specially-formulated repair material that is pressure-injected
to ensure penetration through the entire wall, from bottom to top,
from the inside out. PERMA-SEAL® fills the crack and all capillaries,
thermally fusing to the concrete.

"I've done about 90 feet (30 metres) of crack injection for them,"
Larry says. "I've been up there three or four times, but I've never
been called back to any job I'd already done. The secret is to follow
every step in the process and you never have a problem. The client was
so impressed with the PERMA-DRY® treatment that he bought a
distributorship."
Larry Wamsher has been a PERMA-DRY® dealer for five years and before
that the trained with another dealer in the application of PERMA-DRY®
products for two years.
