Ettingers Funeral Home in Shubenacadie encountered a problem which many people with concrete walkways or driveways do. Their concrete walkway had deteriorated, spalled and discoloured.
To try to cover the problem, they laid astroturf over the concrete. This "solution" caused even more problems. The astroturf retained water, allowing mold and mildew to form, and
caused more damage to the underlying concrete. It was also extremely difficult to clean and detracted from the overall appearance of the building.
