The conventional outside draintile installation in many cases disturbs your yard
and requires costly landscaping or driveway replacement but no guarantee of a dry basement.
When installing outside draintiles, contractors are notorious for skirting around or over
obstructions such as rocks. Also, over time, draintiles may collapse or fill up with silt.
When existing draintiles fail to drain properly, abnormal hydrostatic pressure builds up on
the outside of the foundation wall forcing water up through cracks in the floor, where the wall meets
the floor, through cold joints, or through blocks or cracked mortar.
