PERMA-DRY®
The PERMA-DRY® System Versus Outside Drainage Systems

In most circumstances, clients will compare our price with prices from other contractors who propose a draintile system on the outside. It is our job to educate the customer about the advantages of our P.D.S over the conventional draintile installation. In many cases the estimate for outside draintile does not include the cost of reinstating driveways, landscaping, walks, etc. and rarely comes with a guarantee.

The following chart compares the advantages....

ADVANTAGES OF P.D.S
CONVENTIONAL DRAINTILE
  • Guaranteed
  • Usually not guaranteed
  • Excavated soil is replaced with clear stone eliminating silt filtration
  • Outside draintile systems are usually backfilled with excavated soil. Rain will filter through the soil allowing silt and fines to settle in draintile eventually clogging it again
  • Allows drainage if walls leak in the future because of cracks, tie holes and condensation
  • Doesn't allow for drainage should walls leak because of cracks, tie holes and condensation
  • Easy to determine cause of any problems should they occur because it can be visually inspected from the inside and repairs can be carried out quickly and inexpensively. Cleanouts installed in each corner allow for checking for blockages, and snaking out
  • Difficult to determine where clogs or problems occur and can be expensive to repair once buried under 4-8 feet of soil
  • Capable of venting radon gas
  • Does not vent radon
  • Rigid design gives strength & the smoothe inside of the pipe allows water to flow easily & without obstructions
  • Crushes easily and ribbing restricts water flow and catches silt and sediments building up and eventually blocking up
  • No effect on yard or landscaping
  • Requires extensive yard work reinstating lawn, driveway, decks, etc.
